I. CALL TO ORDER – First Selectman Fortuna called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M.

III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Board of Selectmen Meeting March 10, 2015-

IV. BUSINESS BEFORE THE BOARD
A. Discussion and action to authorize First Selectman to sign CT Trust for Historic
Preservation “Making Places Grant” contract, $49,750.00.
First Selectman Fortuna noted that this grant was discussed at the last meeting and is
now asking for approval to sign the contract. The work must be completed within six
months.

Motion to authorize First Selectman to sign CT Trust for Historic Preservation “Making
Places Grant” contract, $49,750.00.

B. Motion by First Selectman Fortuna that the Board of Finance recommend an
appropriation of $49,750.00 to Town Meeting for CT Trust for Historic Preservation
“Making Places Grant” which grant shall be reimbursable from State of Connecticut
Department of Economic and Community Development.

C. Discussion and action to ratifying First Selectman’s signature on the Justice
Assistance Grant (JAG), $22,000.00.
First Selectman Fortuna explained that the Chief of Police had been ill for a few weeks
and this grant needed to go out on March 19. The Grant, which is really an allocation
from Connecticut Office of Policy & Management (OPM), needs approval from the
Board of Selectmen and Board of Finance. Selectman Giegerich spoke that he thought
this made a lot of sense as the Town will not have to buy this machine if the allocation is
approved.

- Motion that the Board of Finance appropriate $22,000.00, which amount is a
reimbursable grant through the State of Connecticut Office of Policy and
Management.

- Discussion and action on a resolution to apply for State of Connecticut grant funding
to upgrade the financial accounting system, $15,000.00.
First Selectman Fortuna explained that this is the final piece to accepting the grant.
The Board of Selectmen and Board of Finance have already approved.

F. Appointments
1. The Preserve AdHoc Committee. It was noted that the First Selectman meant to
appoint Tom O’Dell at the request of First Selectman Noel Bishop from Westbrook,
not Tom Elliott. Selectman Giegerich requested that the First Selectman contact Mr.
Elliott and inform him of this.
